It will be followed by two colloquia in the physics department explaining to a broader audience interested in natural sciences what are the physics goals of the research in Lattice Gauge Theory and why supercomputing resources are needed.

The disastrous consequences of the large earthquake and the sea wave cast a cloud over the scheduled Japan Days of the University of Wuppertal. We decided to carry out the Japan Days even in this gloomy situation because we think that particularly in this situation the people in Japan need our concern and our support.

In the name of all members of the University of Wuppertal we would like to express our sympathy and our solidarity with all people affected by this catastrophe and we offer our deepest condolences to the family members of casualties. We send our best wishes and hopes to all the Japanese people.
